Definatly NOT a "Whitner"! DON'T buy if your looking to "Whiten' your nails! Feb 06, 2011
By Jade I semi-recently bought Sally Hansen's "Insta-Brite Nail Whitner" and have been using it for least a month. I figured like with anything sometimes you have to give it time to work. Well I must report sadly that the "Insta-Brite Nail Whitner" most definatly DOES NOT whiten ones nails. Also the product once on nails never fully drys no matter how long you wait between coats or even if put one coat on. I put on one thin coat around 8 at night. Went to bed round 2am and when I woke up in the morning instead of a nice smooth shiny look I got a mostly semi dull looking no longer smooth look. The product while on nails now had the imprint of my sheets etc. Sally Hansen products used to be good but over the last 10 yrs they have just kept slowly going down hill. And this "Insta-Brite Nail Whitner" is just the latest failure. Ladies don't waste your hard earned money on this product. It doesn't do what they say its supposed to. You be better off to try something from another brand. I do NOT recommend this product (unless you want to pay alot more for what is basically a top coat for nails (and a poor quality one at that)) or any nail product by Sally Hansen.

Not really a "whitener" May 02, 2009

Don't get me wrong, I love Sally Hansen products, but this one is not one of them. Pretty much, its Hard as Nails, but more expensive. Definitely not something I'd recommend for whitening nails, but as a strengthener, sure.
I tried it out because my nails recently have been "clear" closer to the nail beds, and I wanted something to whiten them without having to get fake nails. I was planning on going to either white nail polish or the white nail pencils but this caught my eye- it said it was great for on top or on the bottom of my nails. After 2 coats on my dry clean nails I notice absolutely no difference between the hand with just clear strengthener and the one I put this stuff on. Even if I put it on below the nail! I have even let them sit for a day, and applied another coat, but still, nada. No difference at all.
Bottom line, its repackaged Hard as Nails, so if your actually looking for something to whiten not just harden, look elsewhere.

Perfection at the fingertips! May 19, 2008
By Yale I'm not sure if this actually "whitens" the nails, but it does have some tiny pigments in it that VERY slightly shimmer. It won't shimmer on your nails though - it's a COMPLETELY natural look. I did notice that it helped keep my nails in good condition and strong!

I was a little wary when I bought this but it's great! Oct 31, 2008

I love Sally Hansen products! but I have to admit that I was wary before buying this product. There are so many things out there marketed to make a person's nails look better and I figured this was just another attempt. but as I said, I love this brand, so I decided to give it a shot.
Two coats later and my nails look wonderful! My nails are kind of dull and I've always wanted the tips to look brighter and whiter. I didn't want it to look like a french manicure but a more natural look. and I don't really like those tip pencils. So I applied two coats and my nails actually look natural and pretty:) and it dries pretty quickly too.
Check it out if you find your nails are dull or "clear" and you want them to be stronger and cleaner looking.
I agree with the negative reviews; it just doesn't whiten nails. Sep 10, 2011

I've been using this for awhile and my nails are just as yellow as when I started. It's not horrible. I mean my nails aren't more yellow, which is a pro. However I didn't buy it to keep my nails from getting yellower. I bought it to make my nails whiter. This was a rip off. It's not anything close to "insta-brite." It doesn't work at all.
