I went from DARK BROWN to a BELIEVABLE RED! May 10, 2011

1) It's a believable color. Not that creepy maroon red or that 'oh my gosh she looks like a carrot' red. It's just red enough to be believable, even if your friends have seen you with dark hair for years. Okay, then they will know you dyed it, but only in the best way. The color on the box is close, at least for me, it came out less copper than the picture, but it's a NICE, grownup, lighter, reddish color. I will admit, I don't love looking in the mirror at my age (43) and seeing my mom :) So I dye my hair and this is my favorite color.
2) It's super easy to use. I use it on my dark brown hair, leave it on for 40 minutes, and use it on dry hair. Just mix 2 things together, shake well, apply to hair and wait. Then rinse (don't shampoo!!!!) out, condition it, and dry.
3) My tips: don't wash it out, but really, really, really rinse it. Then, only after the best rinse ever, apply conditioner, wait five min, then rinse again. Dry your hair and try not to use styling products until a day or two later, at least. They all contain chemicals that can mess with your color and condition. I always give my color 'time to settle' so I don't wash it for an extra two days, and I don't use any product. Just a ponytail :)
4) It's a great price! I ordered here on Amazon and I'm thrilled with the delivery time, the product was brand new (in date. I called to be sure.) and it was just the one I wanted. Good deal!
5) Customer service (the number on the box) is wonderful. They answer quickly, know everything about the product, and are so pleasant.
I recommend Revlon Colorsilk and for my dark, brown hair, 53 gives me a perk-up and in a believable color.

This is an awesome product and color. No ammonia, easy to use (especially for my very long hair). The color is amazing and natural looking and I get tons of compliments from strangers on the color of my hair. Today I noticed that this color no longer appears on the Revlon site and I can't seem to find it in stores any more either. If this goes the way of many of Revlon's great lip colors of the past, I'm afraid I can no longer remain a Revlon fan.

I have dyed my hair this color a few times. It's a great color. However, I bought mine from Walmart. Why pay $6 when you can go to your local Walmart and buy the same EXACT thing for $2.97 a box?

"Sassy red hair"
I found Light Auburn in Colorsilk to be a very good product. I don't use the conditioner that comes with the box because it makes my hair really sticky, so I use my own conditioner. I'm very happy with the results. It gives my hair just a nice reddish blondish look that looks good with my light skin and green eyes. I like this product very much.
